The Project

Area Residential Care (ARC) is on a mission to make a profound impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, striving to empower them to achieve the highest quality of life possible. ARC envisions a world where every person, regardless of intellectual abilities, has the opportunity to live, work, and actively participate in a supportive and accessible community. Serving 116 individuals annually with the dedication of 130 employees, ARC is embarking on a transformative initiative – a solar portfolio project for their residential buildings.

BQuest proudly supports Hammond Climate Solution's Solar Moonshot Program with individual grants that help nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. With the help of BQuest's grant through the Solar Moonshot Program and other grant funding and incentives, ARC was able to install 99.5 kW of solar on a portfolio of residential buildings. Half of the solar savings will be used to support ARC's operations and the other half of savings will be passed on to the residents themselves.

What They Are Saying

"We are thrilled to announce that Area Residential Care has gone solar! We have installed solar panels on our roof, as part of our commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. This investment in clean energy will reduce our carbon footprint, while also helping to reduce our energy costs. We are excited to take this important step forward and look forward to the benefits that our new solar system will bring.”

- Sue Freeman, Executive Director, Area Residential Care.
