The Project
BQuest made a program-related investment in the Boulder Housing Partners Community Solar Garden, developed and constructed by GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit solar installer whose mission is to advance economic and environmental justice through renewable energy.
GRID Alternatives developed this 628 kW fully dedicated low-income community solar garden in Boulder, Colorado. GRID’s Tribal Program oversaw the project installation while providing hands-on workforce development training for 16 Indigenous participants.
The electric bill savings generated from the community solar garden will be 100% dedicated to offsetting energy use for 190 low-income residents living in Boulder Housing Partners rentals. Boulder Housing Partners is a nationally recognized affordable housing provider and one of the nation’s leaders in sustainability within affordable housing, with a goal to become the first net-zero Housing Authority in the nation.
