PROGRAM SOLAR MOONSHOT

YEAR 2022

FUNDING GRANT

The Project

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse's (CCDLC) mission includes promoting human dignity by alleviating poverty and strengthening individuals and families. CCDLC does client aid, helps people with rent and utilities, does immigration and adoption work, offers disabilities services, runs a warming center, and runs an emergency shelter so people who are chronically homeless can live there. They work based on their community's need and help 19 counties in western Wisconsin.
CCDLC plans to use their solar savings from the Solar Moonshot grant towards continuing their community services including immigration, food pantry, men's clothes closet, client aid and casework.

What They Are Saying

"We are so excited about this great opportunity. The programs that operate out of the proposed building, St. Lawrence Community Services (client-aid) and Immigration Services, only function through generous donations and grant funding. Reducing any expenses to those programs, such as utility expenses, allows us to focus available funding towards our clients. We’ve also received questions whether offering these types of services fit into a neighborhood setting. We feel that an investment into solar energy accurately displays our long-term commitment to our clients and the community at large."
