 The Project

Christ United Methodist Ministry Center (CUMMC) is an ecumenical, non-profit faith-based urban ministry center of The United Methodist Church (UMC) in San Diego, CA. Christ United Methodist Ministry Center provides a space for worship, education, and fellowship, and a variety of charitable and community organizations. Their mission is to engage in public benefit ministries including feeding the hungry, creating access to resources like clothing and shelter, welcoming strangers, caring for the imprisoned, ministering to the sick, and providing spiritual guidance.

With the installation of 82 solar panels on their 26,000 square foot building, Christ United Methodist Ministry Center's transition to solar energy is not just an environmentally conscious decision but also helps CUMMC save money that can be redirected into programs and services so more people can receive support. Christ United Methodist Ministry Center's roof-mounted solar energy system provides the organization with a reliable source of clean energy and also significantly reduces their carbon footprint. By partnering with the SunForAll Program, which included financing from BQuest Foundation, they were able to install 33.1 kW roof-mounted system. This project represents a significant step forward in CUMMC's mission and will have a lasting positive impact on their community outreach and support efforts.
