Faith Baptist Church

 The Project

Faith Baptist Church stands as a beacon of hope and community support in the heart of East Oakland. The church plays a pivotal part in uplifting the community, notably through its Food Giving Program. Every other week, Faith Baptist Church opens its doors to the community giving people more access to groceries and supplies. Here, volunteers extend a helping hand, providing essential sustenance to over 300 families monthly, contributing to an annual distribution of more than 260,000 pounds of food and supplies.

BQuest proudly supports Hammond Climate Solution’s Solar Moonshot Program with individual grants that help nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. Aided by a grant through the Solar Moonshot Program, Faith Baptist Church was able to install a solar storage battery that will provide a low-cost and reliable power backup option.

Faith Baptist Church has previously installed a solar PV system. The reduced energy costs from adding battery storage further enable Faith Baptist Church to redirect funds toward its ministry, mission, community outreach, facility upgrades, and more. In addition to the financial benefits, the church actively participates in local climate justice initiatives focusing on social equity objectives in Oakland.
