The Project

Green New Deal Housing's (GNDH) mission is to develop equitable zero energy housing and green collar workforce in the Arrowhead Region of northern Minnesota. Their vision is to live in a sustainable future with their community. Their role is multifaceted - they recognize that there is a way to address the climate crisis, housing crisis, and wealth disparities by developing zero energy housing. They also use their projects as living labs, providing free training in green construction practices and creating educational and economic opportunities for existing workers and those who would like to enter the trades.

What They Are Saying

“The solar PV system for this super-efficient pilot home is a solution to the needs and a symbol of the opportunities in our community. The residents will enjoy comfort without the high cost of energy, and the use of solar energy helps mitigate climate change. We're committed to making every home we develop zero-net energy.”
