The Project

The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center (LFJCC) in La Jolla, California, is dedicated to celebrating Jewish heritage, culture, and community. Since 1945, LFJCC has been at the heart of the community, offering a wide range of programs and facilities, including the David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre, the Friedenberg Olympic Pool, the Albert A. Hutler Tennis Center, and the Nierman Preschool. Whether it’s through fitness classes, cultural events, or educational programs, LFJCC is committed to fostering connection, learning, and well-being.

With financing from the BQuest Foundation and in collaboration with the SunForAll Program, LFJCC has taken a big step toward sustainability by installing a 463.8 kW solar system. This clean energy system is expected to save LFJCC more than $4,816,000 over its lifetime. These savings will be reinvested into the Center’s programs and services, helping ensure they continue to thrive and evolve for years to come.

This solar project reflects LFJCC’s commitment to environmental responsibility while enhancing its ability to serve the community. By embracing renewable energy, LFJCC is creating a more sustainable future, both for the planet and for the people it supports every day.
