The Project

Mercy House's mission is to provide food, clothes, and shelter to homeless families with dependent children in the Harrisonburg, VA area in a safe community while providing services to help overcome issues leading to homelessness. They have several programs to help get families back into self-sufficiency, such as SAFE-at-home, Rapid Rehousing Program, and Homeless Prevention Program.

Mercy House's SAFE-at-Home initiative supports homeless or recently homeless individuals and families, providing targeted financial assistance and intensive case management to prevent them from falling back into housing instability. The Homeless Prevention Program supports low-income families facing a housing crisis by offering strengths-based case management to help them maintain their current housing and avoid future crises. The Rapid Rehousing Program aids those living in shelters, vehicles, or tents in accessing permanent housing, providing support with deposits and first-month rent. Ongoing assistance is tailored to individual needs, and clients work with staff to develop a Housing Stability Plan for long-term success.

BQuest proudly supports Hammond Climate Solution's Solar Moonshot Program with individual grants that help nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. With the help of BQuest's grant through the Solar Moonshot Program and other grant funding, Mercy House has installed a 10.3 kW solar array.
