The Project
The Michigan Advocacy Program's mission is to advance the safety, independence, and economic stability of those most affected by poverty, racism, and other structurally oppressive systems by increasing access to justice and working for systemic solutions. The Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) is excited about adopting solar energy to make a positive impact on the environment.
BQuest proudly supports Hammond Climate Solution's Solar Moonshot Program with individual grants that help nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. With the help of BQuest's grant through the Solar Moonshot Program and other funding, the Michigan Advocacy Program was able to install a 23.54 kW solar system. The electricity savings from this transition will be used to support essential client services. The money saved in utility expenses by the Michigan Advocacy Program will go right back into the organization to contribute to legal services, benefiting low-income Michigan residents by ensuring housing, employment, and safety.
What They Are Saying
"The Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) is excited to go solar in order to have a positive impact on the environment, while using our electricity savings to fund more essential client services. MAP has been in operation since the 1960s, and is the only provider of free, civil legal aid in our service area. The money we save on our electricity bill by transitioning to solar power will be directly applied to legal services that keep low-income Michigan residents housed, employed, and safe."
