The Project
Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library offers free and equitable access to lifelong learning and enrichment as they support opportunities for discovery and community connections. They’re known as the place to go for friendly help. The library offers summer reading programs, hosts events, and even hosts programs for their community, like winter clothing drives and story-time sessions for kids at a local pool.
In addition to the Library's commitment to their community, they have also launched the Renew initiative with the goal of making sustainable, energy-conserving changes to the Library's carbon footprint. BQuest proudly supports Hammond Climate Solution's Solar Moonshot Program with individual grants that help nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. With the help of BQuest's grant through the Solar Moonshot Program and other grant funding and incentives, the Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library was able to secure a 32.4kW solar array that will produce 103% of their annual energy consumption. Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library hopes to encourage and inspire their neighbors to consider energy-efficient ways they can Renew their homes and businesses to create a more resilient future for Trempealeau.
What They Are Saying
"The Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library is dedicated to providing free and equitable access to lifelong learning and enrichment to the community we serve. As reuse is one of the trademarks of every public lending library, we intend to build upon this foundation of sustainability as we model good stewardship of the Earth's resources and provide education on how we all can reduce our carbon footprints as our important community establishment goes solar."
