Led by Keith Benning, a compassionate Deputy Sheriff and Municipal Judge, Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue envisions a future where an animal shelter and youth center will empower their primarily Native American community. Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue works with the communities they serve in North Dakota so that together they can come up with long-term, permanent solutions that improve the quality of life for humans and animals alike. Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue is dedicated to rescuing stray animals while putting into place the necessary services to decrease animal overpopulation, rescuing and rehoming 70-100 animals every month. Since 2015, this nonprofit, volunteer-based organization has been a beacon of hope in an underserved community, collaborating with locals to provide vital services and is the only animal rescue in their 3,000 square mile area.
BQuest proudly supports Hammond Climate Solution’s Solar Moonshot Program with individual grants that help nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. Aided by a grant through the Solar Moonshot Program, the solar thermal panels installed are the first component of the organization's planned microgrid and will power the shelter's further community service as a resilience hub, while teaching local students about solar and the benefits of renewable energy. With low-cost spay and neuter programs, vaccination clinics, and youth involvement initiatives, Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue exemplifies the extraordinary impact an organization can have when working together for the betterment of humans and animals alike.
What They Are Saying
"Thanks to Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation, Solar Moonshot, and BQuest Foundation, Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue’s installation of 8th Fire Solar thermal panels moves us closer to serving as a fully-reliable community resilience hub. We look forward to a bright, renewable-energy-powered future and sharing our solar success story with our neighbors and community for decades to come!”
