The Project
The Villa Lakeshore Apartments, developed by San Diego County non-profit MAAC, provide quality, safe, and affordable homes for families in the San Diego area. While fossil fuel utility expenses are rising, this solar installation will offer cost savings for Villa Lakeshore residents. Each of the 34 apartments in Villa Lakeshore are projected to save $1,600 a year on utility bills, creating significant savings for the families that live there.
What They Are Saying
"To date, MAAC has developed nearly 1,000 units of affordable housing across San Diego County. The Villa Lakeshore Apartments is just one of those communities that are designed to provide quality, safe, and affordable family homes. Adding a solar installation with the help of a bridge loan from BQuest Foundation and (ultimately) a State of California SOMAH rebate further reduced living expenses for families through the power of the sun. This solar installation not only offers cost savings for Villa Lakeshore residents, but it also helps San Diego County move one step closer to a decarbonized, sustainable future.”
- Arnulfo Manriquez, MAAC President and CEO
